I have a 2.4 litre 200 HP merc and the trim unit is leaking around the ram on top. Is this a hard fix once i get the cylinder off? or is it relativly easy?
I changed my lower unit oil last week. Installed new Omc oil and oring and nylon washer. They old oil was fine. A little black but had alot of hrs on it. After running for 5 hrs i dropped the bottom plug just to check. The new oil was yellow. Not white at all. Sorta custard color. Did not appear...
I have been told that the 1988 1.6 liter 115 hp omc is the same motor as the 140. Is this true? They both have the same specs as far as bore and stroke. They both have the bubble back exhaust. Other than the carbs what is the difference and would it be worth it to upgrade my 115 to a 140?
Pulled the heads on my 115 to replace the water diverters and gaskets.I found 1 head with alot of pitting on the bottom cylinder. It was obviously rebuilt at one time and the head was not replaced. Is it safe to run a pitted head or should i replace it.
