I have a 260 mercruiser w/ alpha stern drive.
Something happened in the drive & now i am stuck in neutral. Cant shift into forward or reverse gear.
I want to expose the drive end of shift cable.
How do i get the lower unit off when i cant shift into forward, which i understand is required to...

while at the lake last week, we were out in the boat & while cruising in forward gear, all of a sudden there was a sound in the drive & the boat went into neutral & would not shift into forward or reverse. basically stuck in neutral.

i just went out to get her ready for the lake. everything works great except when i went to lift the drive, when i push the up button on the throttle lever, all i get is a click from the solenoid. nothing happens at all when i push the down button...
