    Question about motor conversion!!!

    I have a 2007 Mercury 9.9hp motor..My father has a 1983 40hp Mercury motor..Both are console motors not tiller...My question is can we switch these two motors.. Thanks, Doug

    Changing from '07 motor to '73 motor....

    I have a 17ft grizzly boat that I'm taking the 2007 9.9hp off and putting a 1973 500 50hp motor on the back. I fish a lot of lakes where you have to have a 10hp or less but I plan on hitting some rivers. Just wondering if this motor will take the same hookup or will I need an adapter to make...

    The serial number is 3721383. It says on the cap thunderbolt ignition.... Thanks, Doug
