I Have a 2000 70hp Johnson, dealer said this motor has to be run between 5000 and 6000 rpm's at wot and full trim. Any more or less will damage engine. With boat loaded best operating range is 5500 rpm's. I understand higher than 6000 will damage engine. Could someone tell me why lower rpm's...
2000 70hp johnson model j70plss runs great. Had a 14x17 prop with rpms running at 5200 changed to 14x15 prop rpms runs 5600 or 5700 at wot for 30 seconds and motor will break up. Have to stop shut motor off and start, will run fine at wot for 30 seconds. Is there a safty shut down set on these...
