I have a 1994 Mercury 60. The Tach was not working so I replaced it and its still not working. The switch on the back of the tach is set to 6p.
When I turn the key on the tach moves but does not read with the engine running.
Would the rectifier be the next logical step?
I have a 1978 Johnson 150. I am tired of mixing fuel, so I am looking to find an aftermarket oil pump kit for this motor. I have heard they exist but can't seem to find any info. Any suggestions of where I might find any info on this.

I bought a Michigan Stainless 15x17 prop. Model 389925. The original thrust washer allows the prop to slide down to far. Which thrust washer do I need to make this prop work and where can I order one. The engine is a 1978 Johnson 150.

I am restoring our old ski boat. Part of the project is a fresh coat of paint on the 1978 Johnson 150 outboard. Any recommendations for paint? Will it peel off if I don't use a two part. Can I get by with something out of an aerosol can?

While I have this motor off the boat I am considering doing some work to it. Engine runs fine now but has unknown hours on it. What would be required to up the HP a bit? New reeds perhaps, maybe carbs. Any ideas for increased performance on this engine.
