I have a 1993 25hp Mercury outboard with console controls on my current 15ft aluminum boat. I need to purchase a 10 hp or less outboard to use on some smaller reservoirs in my area. Will these 1993 controls be compatible with say a 1996 Mercury 9.9 or would they not work?
So for the past few years I have been having issues with my 95 Johnson 112. 2 yrs ago we went out in very rough seas and after getting to our destination we could not get boat started again. Got it home and realized if we just unplugged kill wire at motor it would fire up. We looked allover...
After looking at pinout diagram it looks like the corrosion was mainly affecting the kill ground, tach and Fused 12volt leads. With the corrosion being in contact will all 3 leads I assume that the voltage I was getting could have been traveling through the corrosion from 12v lead to the kill...
Having spark issues on my 95 Johnson 112. After watching several videos on you tube I saw one that said make sure I don't have any voltage going through my kill circuit. Well when I disconnected it from power pack I was getting 12volts. So I pulled the red plugs apart at the motor and under...
I am having trouble with my 112spl. Thought I had fuel issues so I rebuilt carbs and that still didn't fix it. I am able to get it fired when it is in the forward detent while in neutral but it quickly shuts off after a few seconds. It won't start at a high idle at all and will quickly turn off...
So I did the adjustments and it works great in forward and I can get it to go into reverse but I am not get any throttle in reverse. It just feels like a hard stop as soon as it gets into reverse. If I put it in the high idle/start position using the button on the controls I can get full...
Would you happen to know shift rod height for the 112 extra long shaft, some charts say 26 1/4 and others 26 27/32? Also, do you adjust cables while in neutral or forward? My manual states in forward but all posts I read say in neutral. It is a surface binnacle mount controller if that makes a...
Is this linkage supposed to twist like this in picture with red circle when in forward WOT? When it is in neutral it mates back up with the control cable like in 2nd photo.
I replaced my water pump and now trying to get the linkage connected properly. I slid the pin mechanism back through the linkage but is it suppose to slide through the other hole on the starboard side of the shift rod? Right now I can get it to shift but this black bracket seems to be bending...
Sorry it has been so long, I was finally able to take the boat out recently with the new relay. It seems to be working fine now the few hours we had it in the water. Thanks a lot!
