    30 weight oil in older outboards?

    Remove lower unit to access water pump

    1977 175 johnson. There are 5 bolts as far as I can see but the l/u will not budge. Shifter linkage is removed as is entire powerhead. Am I missing something? Please help. Thanks, Peter

    77 v6 175 after a long run, warm engine #1-75 #2-6 110-115 1 oz oil added to #1 reading jumps to 120. Is this a ring issue? Would a decarb help diagnose problem. Whats involved in ring replacement?

    Power tilt and trim

    1977 175 johnson. Tilt/Trim motor runs but no response from engine. Filled reservoir with motor in the up position and checked manual override screw. seems tight. No leaks but I'm stumped on this one. Any suggestions?
