    Mercury outboard serial number

    Just bought a used Mercury 150 XR-4. Would love some information on this engine (year, etc.) Decal on side of mount says.. 0C218771. What do these numbers reflect? Thanks, Steve

    engine quits

    My '92 Force 70 HP cranks, idles, runs smooth....to a point. When i push the trottle more than 60%, the engine just dies, like you turn a switch off.
