    gas drinking motor

    I have a 1977 evinrude 85 horse outboard on a dixie bass boat of the same model. I am running 87 octane with 50:1 mix of johnson/evinrude oil. Just out riding around or tubing I am using around 6 gallons an hour. Is this normal?

    little box??

    On a 77 dixie I have 2 sets of battery cables coming off of the battery, one to the motor and the other goes into a little box under the splashwell of the boat. The box has two screws on it and opens to what looks like a selenoid of sorts can anyone tell me what it is?
