    Hello all, my fishing buddy has a 20ft wellcraft, with a 1983 mercruser 470, 170hp i/o. problem is it won't start after it has run a while (heatsoaked). she,ll start fine when cold and after it has cooled. when it's failed the battery voltage drops to about 6.5 vdc. the igntion switch reads good...

    15hp evinrude (74) water flow indication

    Hey all dumb question. I have a 1974 15hp evinrude ,model 15505c. runs great but had a water leak at t-stat housing. pulled cover off, no t-stat at all. installed new t-stat o-ring and gasket. now have no leak but is there a tell tale with this motor and how do I know if there is water flowing...

    Thanks for the reply yb. thats what he did,except he took a little air pressure to the drain hole and blew most of the old grease out. refilled it with 90w oil. Looks like it'll be a good little workhorse. T

    "71" Sears 3 hp ob lu

    A friend of mine recently resurrected a sears 3 hp ob, runs great. The question is does the lower unit use 90w oil or is it a grease. Thanks for any advice, and that was a great debate on the spark plug issue. T

    evinrude 15hp waterleak

    I have a 1975 evinrude 15hp ob. model 15505c. It runs great but I noticed water dripping from under the head gasket cover. The thermostat is located in that spot and I was hoping someone knew if there was a weep hole there, indicating a bad t-stat, or defective gasket. thanks tuhuna.
