First let me say it's been so long since I've been to Iboats. I really enjoyed this forum & now I remember it I'll be sure to visit more often.
Now for the problem. A couple years ago my cotter pin apparently broke & my axle nut fell off. Luckily I caught this pretty quick & at low speed...
The question is not if I should use them as I am going too (either these or the Fentress)
I have no choice. I cannot get the boat off the bunks at a shallow ramp..... same problem as my previous boat, installed the sliders & life was good.
The question is: Will they mark the boat...
Ok. Quick question: I just bought a Key West CC.
It currently has an Evinrude on it, but I want to put my 60HP Mercury on it.
The controls on the Evinrude are set up to be on the right hand side of the console, however, my Mercury controls look like they need to be attached the to the left...
Instead of searching through 1000's of similar posts, I'll make my own.
What I am looking for is a decent FF'er that works well while driving the boat as well as works well in shallow waters. (I rarely see 20+ feet deep in our local lakes)
Price is indeed a factor as well.
I had my eye on the...
I decided this year I wanted to start trolling / spider rigging for crappie.
It seems like a productive way to cover a lot of water instead of anchoring / moving / anchoring / moving/ etc.

I'm looking for some opinions on which system to get.

I can get a 3-rod...
I could of sworn I read a post here about this technique but can't seem to find it.

I came across a great technique for removing throat hooked fish & would love to share to people that may have not of heard of it.

Basically this technique is needed if a fish swallows the...
Hi & thanks for reading.

My motor is a 86 Mercury 60hp. 3 cylinder. It is pushing an old 14 foot Sea Sprite.

A strange thing happened today that made me wonder what was going on......

Since buying this OB I've only fished by myself. At higher RPM's I could hear...
I posted this at another forum but haven't receieved much response. So here it is......

Ok. Now I got everything else done with my boat it's time to do something with this gosh darn trailer.
I hate it hate it hate it hate it. (did I mention I hate it?)
I actually try to...
Ok. I have a friend I take fishing with me when he's able to go. The problem is he's terrible. When we're bobber fishing, the bobber will dive & I'm like "dude" (universal for "set the hook"), the problem is he leaves too much slack out & ends up whipping the wind... funny as heck to see him...
Hi.
I am about to attempt to install a 60 hp outboard on my boat & had a couple questions.
When I took the nonrunning 50hp off it was only held on by the upper clamps, but looks like they had drilled holes in the transom for the two lower bolts. I want to re-use these holes...
Ok. I'm looking for some inexpensive pedestals for my old 14 foot fiberglass boat.
My boat is setup so you are basically down in the boat, flat floor all the way back. My old pedestals (well bases I guess, big square things) are too large & take up a lot of precious area. So I was...
Hi.
I was considering buying a used motor to tide me over till I can get my old Mercury running.
I found a great deal on an old Chrysler & was wondering if anyone can tell me about it.

I know the year of the 303HA is a 1971 model, but can anyone tell me more...?
Is it...
Ok. Someone recently told me that to renew the shine on my old boat to use some ATF & use it very very sparingly on a regular cloth rag & it would work.
He said if I can feel an "oily" feeling on the boat that I'm using too much.
Anyone ever try this? He said it worked.......<br...
Hi all.
I have a non-running 71 Mercury 500 (50hp). It came with the boat when I bought it, never tested, who knows how long since it's ran.
I know parts for this motor are quickly becoming obselete (they don't make the dist cap anymore).
Anyways, I took it into a backyard Joe...
Since it's kinda slow here today I thought I'd ask a few questions to our crappie experts.

I've been reading up on trolling for crappie but I still had a few questions before I went & did any buying.

1st. Rod Holders. I know about the Titelok system & it's cheaper...
