no i always crank with muffs on the motor and water running yes it has oil in the gear case as for the carb bowls how do you check them on an Evinrude i only have experience with mercury and everything looks very enclosed on this motor i saw another post on here about the 1976 Evinrude 135 hp...
Not new to outboards I have been dealing with them for about 10 years i am new to evinrude though how do you tell if there is fuel in this type of carb?
I just recently purchased a 1976 135hp Evinrude used and the person i bought it from showed me it running so i didnt have an issue buying it. Fast forward to now (3months later) and the motor turns over but doesnt sound like it wants to start the previous owner had zip ties holding on the fuel...
I had It running but now 2 months later I can't get it to run when I did have It running it took almost 20 key turns to start and the gas lines were rotten off of it prior to getting it
I'm in Canada I just bought the boat it need the carbs re-built and maybe more I'm not sure yet I just want to have all the information before I start tearing it down
7013633 THRU 7073472 CAN - 650 (3 CYL.)-7073473 THRU 7087822 CAN - 650 (3 CYL.) these are the two serial number ranges when searching for parts which one should i use?
i have a mercury 65hp 650 the serial number stamped on the cylinder head is 7003604 but that does not match any serial number range listed on parts websites
