I picked this up this spring for a couple hundred bucks.
Did do a lot of cleaning and polishing but have more to do as well. But it's a work in progess as I am using it as a fishing boat. Will post a couple of pics.
Again a 1960 Lark II 40 HP. Ran fine until the float went to crap and the fuel system got contaminated. Put new(tested) fuel pump on, new float, needle and seat. Cleaned the carb while I had it off to change the float.

Just bought it last month, all redone from a dealer. Started last Sunday with no top end, then quit. Had to limp it in with the primer bulb, squeeze every few seconds to keep running. No fuel in the bowl on the fuel pump. Was leaking from the bowl as well.

I troll for lakers all day. It idles like a champ with only a sputter once in a while. I do shut down for shore lunch, and will run it up changing locations. Will extended idle hurt my motor?
