I have a 1979 Starcraft Chieftan with a blown (burned piston/destroyed cylinder) 140hp, 3.0 GM engine mated to an OMC Stringer 400. When looking for a used replacement engine block, what year models can I include in my search? All years up through 1990? Mercruiser or OMC equally OK? Thanks.
