It hasnt been a while since I was on here last but Ive run into my next problem. The motor runs perfect at wide open throttle but it has problems when I try to go slower. It sputters a lot and wont idle well either.

I was wondering.. what is the rich/lean knob reffering to on my 68 20 hp johnson? Is it oil and fuel or air and fuel? Im trying to figure out what it does, if I play with the knob while its running it doesnt seem to make any difference? Is that bad?

I need to change the impellor before this impellor makes me change motors. Its been pounded by the pluff mud and saltwater of Charlston and it miraculous that the impellor has lasted this long. Anybody know how hard of a job this is and what all do you have to take off?
