I hooked up the hose to run a little bit after setting a couple of months. Allways runs good and started right up. Question is after running a min. or so starboard side head and cylinders get pretty warm, port side cold, is this normal.
I have a 1994 225 evinrude, after setting a day or more it loads up with oil so bad will hardly start. After starting it smokes pretty bad for a couple of minutes then clears itself out. Was told the check valve in the VRO was bad letting oil leak in. Any opinions.
A lot of hype but isn't it just another direct injected 2 stroke. Sounds like a little more electronicly controled. And if it is a world beater then how are they going to sell any outboards before 2005 when the new E-Tec V-6's are ready. Who wants to be the first year ginny pig for the new...
Engine coughs and sometimes dies when I throttle up from idle. I am going to clean and install new carb kit. I was also thinking about installing new boyseen reeds while im at it. Does anybody have any experiance with boyseen reeds.
Does anybody have or know of anybody that has information on the preformance and reliability of the new Rude 225 Ficht HO. And is it safe to go back to Evinrude now.
Starts easy everytime, but about half the time will die when put in gear. When warm it starts and the rpms are increased about 250 for about 5 seconds then idles down. Sometimes it dies after idling down.
Im getting ready to order my new bass boat (21') First choice was either Merc optimax or Evinrude ficht 225's, but now with the 4 strokes out Yamaha 225 (not a big fan of Yamaha) But NOW! Honda has a 225 V-Tec 4 stroke, If its as good as the other Honda products it should be great. Any thoughts
