    water pressure?

    Exactly how much water pressure should my 1973 mercury 650 have? I am running about 1psi at idle & 6psi @ 5200 rpm. I have reduced the size of the pee hole and this helped only .5psi. I have a new upper, lower pump housing, spacer plate and impeller.

    I have noticed the distributor on my 1973 65hp merc has a windowed plate for the pickup. Does anyone know if the pickup is magnetic or optic ? Does it create a square wave? Short of removing the up-side-down distributor it is hard to see.
