About says it all. Engine running, engage into gear, prop won't turn. Is there any sort of shear pin in the out drive that would go?
Any theories people?
Thanks
In trying to narrow down where the water came from (other than the non existent riser gasket) I fabricated an aluminum plate like the thermostat gasket and siliconed it both sides installing it between the thermostat housing and exhaust manifold thereby isolating the two.
I removed the hose...
Trying to get my ducks in a row for a replacement, rebuild, re-power. Sig say it, and what I'm finding is that I'm looking at $1000 in materials (expensive non-existent exhaust manifold) and the other stuff for a rebuild.
Question is, what can I replace it with? 3.0 4.3? and not have to get...
Noticing that one of the riser bolts was missing I took it off. One bolt stripped out, one loose and going (both front short ones). Removed the riser, and no gasket. I filled exhaust at riser flange with water (yes the water jacket :D), and it held it for half an hour. Next day top it off (...
Up to now...
Water in oil.
Put it on the hose, and water in cylinders.
Yesterday....
One bolt missing in joint from manifold to riser. Assuming that could cause a leak and deterioration of the gasket thereby latting water into the exhaust.
Removed riser, and not to surprised to find...
In diagnosing water going into the crankcase, I found that when on the muff it's going into the cylinders. I know this may be a cracked manifold from a freeze, but also yesterday found that a bolt (one of 4) at the riser to manifold junction is broken.
My theory on getting lucky is that this...
Yes, I've read them all both here and across the world ;-). But people here are nicer!
Subject says it. Oil has been drained (all three gallons). I thought it would be the block, but core plugs are in place (yes I know that's not the definitive answer) and I put it on the muff without...
