Im replacing the carpet on my poly glass deck. I'm thinking about painting the entire deck with some enamel floor paint I have lying around (for added protection) before I lay the new carpet. Anyone ever try this?

I just bought Sea ray, 1990 merc 115, and the tach isnt working. All fuse are good, wiring looks ok. Bad rectifier? Could it be something else? Would running it with a bad rectifier damage other electrical components?
