I want to remove the throttle cable from the tiller handle of a 1990 Johnson 9.9. See photos. It's a wire spring holding the cable trunion in a socket. Prying out with a screwdriver, as in the photo, does not seem to work. The wire has a couple of bends underneath, but I can't squeeze them...
Converted a 1990 Johnson 9.9 Sailmaster from tiller control to remote control. The factory throttle kit included a bolt/screw & spring to be put "in the threaded flange underneath the stator." This is on the starboard side of the engine & toward the rear. Need instructions on what the setting...
