Hi Lou C !
Thanks for the video's!
Must be great to wonder around on those fine waters, love to be there with you guys!
Over here, it has been raining almost every day with thunderstorms etc., so no boating. Seems we had the most wet summertime ever! Not happy but hey, what can we do about it...
I have no idea. The new prop was on the outboard when I bought the boat. The "old" prop came with the boat in the box you see on the previous picture. There was a little bag with the old washer.
The first pictures show the washers that I found on the new prop after I took it off.
There might be...
The final corrections!
Shifting became impossible once a gear was selected.
This was due to the idle being to high and the ESA system not functioning correctly. As can be seen in the next video the arm of the micro switch has been "modified" by the previous owner in order to eliminate the system...
I mentioned all the numbers I could find at the beginning of this thread.
The only number I can ad is the number found on the original prop:
48 73136 A40 13P. Still wondering why they replaced in first place?
In order to complete this thread I am very happy to finally get the Four Winns on the water and be able to share it with everyone through 2 video's and some pics: https://photos.google.com/photo/AF1QipPf98RQ3kibTZAUYyzD7fErdVAve0v20Z9nugJw
Before & after....
Thank you all for the...
That looks weird! Is the hub pressed in? I will have a closer look on the hub tomorrow. Anyway, there was play in all directions and that I think is unacceptable. The prop even touches the lower housing. Will keep you posted.
Thank you for the info!
That must be the problem, wrong hub kit. The nut is fully tightened. I noticed that for the black max props there is a different hub kit available to go on the older outboards. I guess they ordered the prop without the kit and just did not look any further or someone messed with the parts ( all...
If we were younger we would consider moving to a warmer climate. Might have been better for our health. But now that our health is ruined we can no longer get out of here. The medical care is great and at this very moment this is more important than a good climate.
We have had rain for weeks...
I love your boat Lou, looks great!
Its amazing how much they sound alike. Yours is running a little faster I think but it is probably still warming up. Let the summer begin please, I could do with some nice weather. Forecast is ....rain :(
Thanks for the reply!
The prop shaft has no play at all. There is only some play of the prop on the shaft. I was comparing with the original prop on the same shaft. There is no play with the old but OE prop. The old prop is warped and touches the housing. There are some scoring marks on the old...
Hello boaters!
I recently acquired a small boat with a very nice Mariner 50hp 3 cylinder.
It is a 1995 Belgian build engine with some 112 hours on the clock.
As can be seen on the pic., the lower part was once replaced as was the prop.
I noticed that the prop has some play on the prop shaft and...
Hi Lou C ! He's alive! Turns out the anti return valve was blocked sometimes. The pump is running fine! So, you were right ! Of course the valve housing broke off while dismantling. Found a solution to that problem. ( pic ) All I need now is some good weather to get the boat back into the water...
Thanks for the reply Lou C!
Electric low pressure pump is fitted ( see pic )
Will look in to it next week, once the rain stops. ⛈️
Would have liked a Quad barrel carb, brings some extra HP. However, that would be in strong contradiction with the boat's name! No?
Will keep you posted Lou...
