I have a 1981 115 Evinrude.The tilt and trim are operating ok but when I am lifting the motor there is a loud grating/ratchet type sound coming from the general area of the hydraulic ram.Any ideas of what this may be , and how it can be repaired . Cheers Bruce

I am looking at purchasing a boat with a 1989 140 Yamaha , I am not sure of the hours but am concerned it has been mainly used in the sea.Even if it is flushed after each useage could it still have corrosion.Compression is around 110-114 in each cylinder.Appreciate any thoughts. Cheers Bruce
