I am looking at boat with 1999 115 2 stroke merc. Test drove it and it maxs out at 4800 RPM. Runs great otherwise. I was wondering if Mercury has a RPM limiter on newer motor now. WOT say this motor sould max out between 4750 and 5250. Should I be concerned?
I have fuel related problem. Motor starts and idles fine. When I take off and get up on plane, it will go about 150 yards and then slowly loose power. I will slow down to about 2000-3000 RPM and bounce around in that RPM range. If I slow to idle again for a minute or so then take off, same...
