Just got motor de-winterized by my Merc mechanic. It stalls at about 18-2000 rpm but if I choke it right when it sputters, it will pick up again. runs fine at WOT, but stalls sometimes at trolling speed or idle nutrol. It ran like a champ last year. Any thoughts.<br />Mark
My 1983 80hp Mariner is not quite maxing out the RPM it should at WOT. I am using a 23p now and am wondering what pitch to go to, the numbers on the rear of the prop say H 12.5 X 23P, but I can't read the numbers on the side. My serial number is 6468823. Any thoughts?<br />Mark
I have recently purchased a Mariner (Mercury) outboard. The old owner was under the impression at one point that it was a 90 HP but some one told him it was an 80 HP. It is a 1983 model Serial #6468823. If any one can help me out I would appreciate it.
I put a new trim guage in but I'm not sure which wire is the sending wire. I have a Quicksilver control for Merc with a harness that comes out the front of the control box. There are only two wires left I believe, tan and brown/white. Do I need to pick up an ohm reader?
