    So after some reading, the lead shot is used on these carbs to block/cover drill or casing holes. Is it possible for one of these to leak air? Just curious. And what would work as a sealer if one was leaking or suspect of leaking? Thanks

    Reading spark plugs

    Here is a picture of the spark plugs in my 9.8. The left one is the top. Can someone tell me what might cause them to run different? Possible solutions on what to look for. Thanks for any help.

    Clear this up for me please.

    I read on web site a phrease that has me confused. It stated "On a 2 stroke the idle/mixture screw is an AIR screw not a Fuel screw". So when you go counter clockwise you increase air and decrease fuel? Which is correct? Thanks

    Merc 9.8 idle

    This little motor has a rough inconsistent idle. If the check valves in the fuel pump were bad would this casue a rough idle or some other symptom? I did replace the gasket and diaghram but not the check valves and don't want to unless it will help. Any help would be great.

    Someone told me that a float can actually get saturated. True?? If so what do you think would be the symptom of a saturated float? My 9.8 runs good for a while then sounds like it wants to die. I give it a little throttle twist and it will respond. Thoughts?
