I just bout a 2004 ProGuide V16 with a 50HP Merc on it. I want to add a 9.9hp kicker motor and would like to know what length shaft I would need. Would a 20" shaft be long enough?

I am experiencing a couple problems that I need advice on.
#1. Motor seems to bog down when trying to go from 1/2 throttle to full. It also will hiccup every once in a while. I have changed spark plugs, fuel filter and fuel and it still does it. Seems to get worse when the motor is warm or...
I have a 1979 6hp Seahorse and it ran fine the first trip that I had it out. On the last two times out, it ran for a short period and started to die from not getting fuel. If I would pump the priming bulb when it started to die, it would run fine. Could it be the fuel pump or another possible...
I just bought a boat with a 6hp Sea Horse engine on it. I am new to outboard motors and need some help. The model number is 6R79E. I am assuming that it was made in 1979. Can any other details be given about this motor?
