    Water pump

    I have a 40 hp Evinrude Model #40555 C, I think a 1975. When I run it in a barrel for about 15 minutes it will pump just fine and then if I shut it off for a few minutes and restart it it will not pump any water. I was thinking possible head gasket. I am looking for your thoughts.

    I have seen where some have converted the ignition to an auto type but has anyone ever used a newer marine type ignition on this motor.     I.D. this outboard

    Can anyone tell me anything about this outboard? It is a Mercury 100 hp and the serial number is 2685328. The case has Kiekhaefer on it. Any info as far as parts would be helpful, it has a hole in the power head.

    Electirc power loss

    Have a 1972 Thunderbird w/a 165 hp 6 cyl.Merc. When I lower the outdrive it will run some and then it "kills' all power to the boat, after I release the down button power returns. I am thinking it is a short in the hyd pump, does anyone have any other ideas. Thanks for any coments.

    "HOT" boat

    Has anyone ever heard the term HOT boat. A guy was telling me if the ground on your boat is not hooked up right you could have a HOT boat and fishing from a HOT baot will not be any good. It sounds "fishy" to me does anyone have a comment?
