    tohatsu 9.8 corrosion on vertical shaft

    I have the Tohatsu 9.8 2 stroke outboard. The steering has become extremely stiff and there is corrosion/rust on the vertical shaft from the power head to the lower unit.     9.8 2 stroke slowly fouling and stalling

    which prop for my dinghy

    We're pushing a 10' RIB with a 9.8 Tohatsu 2 stroke. With one person, it gets on plane very nicely. But add a second person and conditions have to be ideal to plane off. The prop is stamped 8.5. Is there a better choice of prop to plane with a heavy load? Thank you

    oil leak from prop hub

    My Tohatsu 9.8 has been sitting since October when I winterized it. I was looking at it today and noticed an oil leak from the inside of the prop hub. There was no puddle on the ground, just a streak of fresh oil on the bottom inside of the hub. What's going on here? Thanks

    sportwin won't make full power

    I have a 1971 9.5 hp sportwin. It starts easily, idles smoothly and will rev way up in neutral but in gear it won't rev up nearly as high and consequently won't plane the dingy any more like it used to. What's up? Thanks
