My main concern is excessive heat melting a bellows but i have thought about the possibility of making a fortune of smoke even though the exhaust exists below water. I dont want to travel too far from my dock to use...

Well right now its taking a smack from a wrench to get my boat to start.
I pulled the solinoid off, it works as it should and I regreased it and reassumbled.

I see one screw in the body beyond the plates but dont know for sure if its the Rochester or the Merc carb.

So after having a hesitation issue I decided to throw parts at it after reading about all the points concerns.
I landed up buying the hot spark kit for my 470 mercruiser.
Has anyone else tried this before? I already ordered it but wont install it if its a known problem :D...

I have it in pieces and im trying to put it together and cant work out how the detents work and how to get the neutral switch to pop out or go in.
