    Help with bow roller setup

The roller position in the first picture looks good. But, I see what you mean with the bow roller not matching the V shape of the hull. Is that a 3" or 4" wide roller? It looks like 3" from the picture, but I could be wrong. If it's 3", have you tried something like this that has not so much...

    Help with bow roller setup

It looks pretty good in your current setup. If anything, you could lower the winch bracket just slightly so that the strap just barely touches the bottom of the bow roller. That way, in a collision or even at high speeds on rough roads, it will keep the bow of the boat from bouncing up and down.

    winterizing question

I prefer to drain it fully and flush with a little propylene glycol based anti-freeze (not the cheap RV stuff) to make sure all of the water is out, and then I fill the block with propylene glycol for the rust/corrosion protection. The cost difference for propylene glycol based anti-freeze is...

Bearing Buddy dust cap "bra" coming off 1 hub while trailering

If you see the grease bubbling and it was very hot, you likely have water intrusion into the hub. You need to take the hub apart and clean it and put fresh grease back in.

Trailer guides with step in the way

I have a boat trailer that looks exactly like yours (mine is a RoadRunner Trailers of Texas) and all you have to do is drill 2 holes through the diamond plate for the U-bolts to come through. It's pretty easy to drill through. I put my guide posts just an inch or two in front of the trailer...

    Bunk Boards or Guide Poles?

I have a 23' V-hull bowrider and side bunks would be too deep for me. The boat would float up on top of them. Instead, I have guide poles and they work great. Granted, I'm in a freshwater lake with just normal side wind based upon whatever weather is occurring. No currents to deal with.

    Need Advice on Towing Performance

Agree on the propeller ideas, especially going to a 4 blade. Also, make sure all 4 adults aren't sitting in the back of the boat. Have 2 of them sit in the bow, and that should help the boat get on plane.

    Best carpet for trailer bunks

I recently replaced my bunks (wood and all) and used the CE Smith bunk carpet from West Marine. I caught it while it was on sale, so it was comparable to ordering online and was able to pick up same day. It seems to be very high quality and came in a 12' long roll that I needed for my 10' bunks.

    Should I be worried

Trailer is too short. It looks like they already pushed the bunks as far back as they can go, as the front end is right at the mounting bracket but the rear is a couple of feet back from the bracket. Making longer bunks would put a long section of bunk with a lot of unsupported weight.

    Replace carpet snaps with Velcro?

It seems to be a common problem that as snap-in carpet gets older, the snaps pull through the carpet. Mine are doing exactly that. Rather than replacing the snaps and making more holes in the floor and in the carpet, has anyone tried using adhesive backed Velcro? Seems like you could stick a...

    Question about Captain's Call Exhaust

I have a 2007 Caravelle 237 that came with the Corsa Captain's Call exhaust installed from the factory. My engine is a Mercruiser 350 MAG. My question is about how quiet should the exhaust be with the Captain's Call exhaust turned off, meaning the exhaust is exiting through the prop under...

How hot should surge disc brakes get?

I recently had the master cylinder replaced on my 2007 tandem axle trailer. The brakes had not been working for several weeks due to a bad seal in the master cylinder. Now that I got the trailer back, the brakes work great!! However, I noticed that with just a moderate amount of stop-and-go...

    Surge brake problems....

I really need some help with my hydraulic surge brakes. I have a 2007 tandem axle trailer with a Fulton A60 (6000 lb rating) surge actuator. Basically, my brakes quit working. So, I thought I would try bleeding the lines, so used the method of attaching a hose to the bleeder valve and...

How does my freshwater sink work?

I recently bought a used 2007 Caravelle 237 bowrider and it has a small freshwater sink behind the passenger seat. How does this thing work? Obviously, I know how to put water in the tank. But then, there's a rocker switch that turns on/off a pump. Do I turn on the pump and immediately turn...

Aluminum 4 blade vs. SS 3 blade?

I am looking to upgrade props from a 3 blade to a 4 blade, but can't afford a SS 4 blade. Will I still gain many of the 4 blade benefits if I just get an aluminum 4 blade? My boat is a 23' Caravelle bowrider with a 350 MAG and Bravo 1 drive. I currently have a Mercury Vengance 19P SS prop (3...
