    Yes, the actuator is leaking. It's leaking very quicky, like a hose is loose even though they are tight and not leaking. Or maybe the seal is just cracked. Has anyone seen them leak that fast?

    I will check. I have an invoice for **** Sherrer Marine in Norfolk, CA. I think the carb was already on it because no mention of carbs in invoice. But starter and all that was replaced by them in Nov 2022.

    It runs very well with the Edelbrock, so probably won't mess with it for now. Was never a fan of Edelbrock carbs at all, especially on 4x4 trucks. Any roll and they flood. Was a fan of the Q-jet for that reason, almost ran like fuel injection.

    Trying to identify the heads, I'm pretty certain they are the "906" Vortec heads. The heads on my boat have a large single hump, instead of a sawtooth pattern that the "062" would have. And the 5.0 would have a square instead of a hump...

    It's pretty quick out of the hole, which makes more sense now that I know it's a 5.7. I may be a bit underpropped as well. Topped out at 47-48mph GPS at 5,000RPM. Full tank of fuel, 4 adults, 3 kids and a bunch of coolers.

    Everything I can find with 880 and 5.7LG SGI tells me it's 96-02 5.7, factory roller cam, Vortec. Considering I got this for so cheap thinking it's a plain 5.0, considering this a decent win. Unless there is something missing shows it's a 5.0. But I guess with 5.7LG on the block is pretty...

    I definitely tried, even with mirror and good headlamp. I just don't see any castings. The only two I saw was 880 on side of block and 5.7LG SGI right by coil mount, and both being port side.

    It's so hard to get back there and look. These are the only other castings I could find below cyl head. It for sure says 5.7LG but can't make out after that.

    It's just slightly odd because being an Edelbrock. It has new motor and drive, so if they went through all the trouble of pulling it, why not just go 5.7? But of course there are no identifiers to check. Did the 5.0 ever come with a 4 barrel? Never was a fan of the Edelbrock on my old 4x4's on...
