    Mariner 40 two stroke reverse crunching

    Hi, I am new to boats and need a little help. I have a mariner 40hp two stroke, I think its a bout 1989/90 It runs well in forward but when bringing it back to neutral and then shifting into reverse it crunches, it does go into reverse thought. Any ideas? thankyou
