UPDATE - Instructions added below!
Okay, so I ordered up a lower shift cable, since I know mine is toast (or close to it). I also noticed there is a tool which supposedly makes it easier to remove/install which costs $30. Seeing as the photo make it look like a piece of square tube welded to the end of a shaft, my gut just twisted at the thought of paying so much for so little, especially since I likely won't be using it often (once only?).
Here is how you can make you own install tool and save $30 for what is essentially a really deep 9/16" thin-wall socket.
According to BT-doctor, you can also weld a deep socket to the head of a 9/16" deep socket and get the same effect. Two ways to save $30!
