No, that will add more weight and put the Engine further back, making it sit even lower.
Looking at the Upper Mounting Bolts, they look like they are Tapering Inward, and there appears to be Cracks along the top of the transom
Was the Spashwell Partially painted? It appears that way, perhaps to hide a bunch of other Stress Cracks from a Rotted Transom

YOU HAVE 2 MOTORS on the back of the boat !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Both are heavy 4 strokes. The 9.9 restricted motor is normally a much bigger and more powerful than a TRUE 9.9 hp motor. It is almost as big and heavy as the big motor.
Sad Very sad. Over powered and overweight engines.

I was in denial for a couple hours but I'm sure someone here can confirm it this four-stroke 115 is not too heavy for this boat it's supposed to seat six people and the motor is only 130 lb heavier than the original two-stroke.
What does the weight capacity plate say?

Guaranteed it doesn’t say 6 persons of unlimited weight. They use #150 per person to come up with that capacity

Bear in mind that the listed weight capacity of most outboard powered boats doesn’t include equipment, ie motors, battery, fuel, coolers, etc.

Here is his other thread on the same topic. There are only 2 pictures, but one shows water about an inch from the edge of the splash well. It briefly went over the well when he got in.

There have been 3 different WEIGHT / POWER CAPACITY PLATES used over the years.
TOTAL weight of ANY CARRIED aboard and or installed items. People, Anchors, tables, Portable fuel tanks filled up,,,,,,,, Weight adds up very fast.
Number of people each of 135 or 185 pounds.USCG or National Boat Manufacturers and USCG each have a different weight. STUPID or what ?
Amount of total engine HP.

Good catch. You need to look closely at the pics.

With no foam under the deck (a legal requirement) it looks like the hull was refurbed before, and not put back to specs. If the deck needs to be replaced, 98% sure that the transom needs it too.

Looking less and less like "beautiful" all the time.

We all got here before. No criticisms. Maybe its time to cut your losses.

That no
Forums
about those 6 passengers at 150# each....they sit further forward in hopes of balancing the boat out. You can't use the total weight and apply that to the motor only. Your going to have to face the facts,.....you need to un- cap the hull and see what is going on, then replace the Totten stringers and wood inside the transom. I have personally saw a rotten transom give way while the boat was underway, everything went down instantly and insurance did not pay for the loss, due to " owner negligence" for failing to replace the rotted wood in the hull. Not a pretty picture !!
