Curious ,, Are you looking to buy a lighthouse?Went to go look at the latest lighthouse for sale; turned out to be another one of the old school, tall, skeleton design rear ranges that litter both sides of the Delaware River. Reedy Island rear range:

I'm on the GSA's notification list.....but yes, I would like to have one. Right before I bought this house I threw bid on this one but started thinking about it and decided against bidding further. This one is 2 nm out into the Bay. It's the front range to the rear you can see behind it (Craighill Channel).Curious ,, Are you looking to buy a lighthouse?
Interesting. I boat on inland lakes and rivers and had no idea private parties bought and vacation or possibly even live in lighthouses.I'm on the GSA's notification list.....but yes, I would like to have one. Would've been a money pit and half lol. Last year the guy on YouTube who bought Wolf Trap and Hooper's Island bought this one too: https://www.thelighthousecenters.org/
Definitely made up my mind that if I'm going to bother with one it needs to be land based. Smith Point however is still for sale if anyone has the $$: https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/0-Smith-Point-Rd-Reedville-VA-22539/2105733490_zpid/
Oh yeah. Years ago, but especially after the NHLPA was passed in 2000. As they become surplus to the gov't, they try to find other federal or state agencies to preserve them, then non-profits, museums, etc then if no one wants it GSA puts it up for sale for anyone to buy who has the $$. In some cases USCG retains access right-of-way to the light itself that may still be active ATON (like Barnegat, Cape May, Cape Hatteras, etc). There are some in private hands, some that are museums, some that are B&B's. You're a bit removed from it, but there's one right on the Schuykill river in Boathouse Row. Turtle Rock Light. Last time I saw it a few years ago it looked like this:Interesting. I boat on inland lakes and rivers and had no idea private parties bought and vacation or possibly even live in lighthouses.

failed heat treatment on the worm allowed the teeth to deform and wipe out the teeth on the wheel. Additionally, centrifugal cast C91700 was spec'd and the vendor used sand-cast C91700 which is about 60% the strength. so the worm wheel failed sooner than it should. But, why did it fail
Not sure there is one. im currently using a thixotropic extreme pressure gearbox lubricant. the one I selected 3 years ago is still the best for the application based on testing.Would a Lubricant, with more EP Additive have helped?
