An 87 model would carry a serial # starting with --B110054--- I think.----Internal reed valves direct air and fuel to the 3 crankcases.----Did that beginning in 1972.

Thats what he sent me, and if it matters in the listing it shows as a mariner in the pics.

Hoping to get today after lunch to look over in more detail.

Perhaps the 6 he read is really a ---G----Ask seller to re-read it perhaps.
here is the best i could get cleaned up, and looking at serial charts I say G even though it looks like a B to me but I am not familiar with the merc font used back then.

side pics. The head and the mounting are grey but below that is black and while painted (can see the drips) i believe it is a merc lower.

Forgot to post all cylinders @ 118 to 119. Lower unit fluid old, a bit dirty and no water.

No spark, again claimed since took controls off...only wires disconnected are the tach and another set prob used to be the trim.

OK got the serial number and it is a 70, not 75. I did read a 12 year old post here that the 70, 80 and 90 were essentially the same save the carbs. Something about ports on the 90. Would be great to grab a couple more HP if it is actually possible? Ebay has a complete ignition system including stator that showd I covers all those hp models.
The 3 engines share the same Displacement. HP differences are usually more than just a different Carb, Porting and Exhaust Tuning among other things, are almost always Different.
