Hey All,
I was wondering if anyone here has experience with an oil leak that appears to be coming from the front of the oil pan gasket? See the video here Oil leak.MOV

Just looking for some confirmation, as it could be misleading if it was a seal directly above? Also, is it possible to replace the oil pan gasket in the hull if its jacked up a bit?

The boat is a 1997 Searay 175. Thank you!!!

it could be the gasket, the crank seal, or a corroded timing cover. You might be able to take the pulley off the crank to get a better look.

You probably could do the oil pan in the hull, depending on what your engine cowl/doghouse looks like.

Except for lifting device, it is really easy to pull an engine out of a boat like this. you can use a chain fall on a beam or tree branch pull the boat out from under it. One advantage to doing it this way is you can pretty easily test run it on the ground once repairs are done to verify no leaks before it goes back in.

First time I did an engine in a sea ray 200 sport. it took an hour and a half to be ready to lift, two beer job...
