Stringer boot recommendations?

I'm fixing up my 79 Starcraft Chieftan and I'm at the point of installing a new rubber boot for the OMC Stringer outdrive. Unfortunately, the new 22-hole aftermarket boot I bought doesn't fit at all. I was prepared for the holes not to align but I can't overcome the fact that the corner radius doesn't match up at all with the metal gasket ring (of which I have two and they are identical). Does anyone have a recommendation for a well-made replacement boot? Thanks.

You probably have the electric shift seal which is #313080. Sierra #18-2767
What you need is #909527 Sierra #18-2768 for 400-800 drive.

who's aftermarket site did you get it from. if you got it from Amazon, it will never fit.

the OEM 313080 is still available. https://www.go2marine.com/Seal-Transom-0313080-313080-313080-Johnson-Evinrude-OMC

I used to buy all my stringer parts from http://sterndrive.info/

should be item 18 http://www.sterndrive.info/id12.html

it lined up on my 84 stringer 400 back in 2006
Thanks, Scott. It probably was from Amazon, though I ordered it last summer so my memory could be off (it happens :). I ordered from Go2marine this time. Sterndrive.info item 18 showed #313080 for both the 16 and 22 hole variants, so I combined your info with Kenny's and ordered #909527.

Thanks, Kenny. That info clears it up for me. Sterndrive.info item #18 shows OEM 313080 for both 16 and 22 hole boots, so I went with your recommendation and ordered #909527.

Go with Kenny's part number recommendation. My memory on the part number 19 years later may be tainted
