Not sure what's going on but have a fuel separator with two lines in two out. Have my kicker out line on same side as inline. Works fine. Have big motor supply line to engine on the other side. But won't suck fuel with primer ball. Do Yu have to have two supply lines to filter for both out lines to motors? Or are they supposed to both work off only one supply line to filter

The unused port needs to be sealed. The plugs are usually tapered, so tighten them a bit, or carefully us some teflon tape in the threads. Make sure no teflon tape gets into the filter or lines.

The filter is a real PIA to prime using a primer bulb. Fill it with fresh fuel, before attaching it to the head.

If you want to be a lazy SOB, use a plier to squeeze the fuel line to seal it as you pump the primer. If the primer won't fill squeeze the fuel line downstream of it. If she fills, squeeze the fuel line upstream of her.

I used the plug supplied to seal off the other inlet opening. And I do have fuel going to the kicker from one of the outlet lines. And it did work before on a different boat. The only thing I changed was using a different outlet port for a directional change of the fuel supply line. But I'm also ready to chuck it and put in two separate filters.

Normally the primer bulbs are on the engine side of the filter. You would need two primer bulbs, one for each engine.

Without any shutoff valves, one motor could pull fuel out of the other motor's fuel line.

Well tucked in a place you have to stand on your head to see was a filter/separator a previous owner had installed. So I Uninstalled the one I put in. I could hear air going in the fuel tank when a bulb was squeezed, so I wanted to check the supply from the fuel tank. And when undoing the hose clamp on the in-line to the filter I noticed it was loose and turns out it was stripped by someone before me and left like that. What kind of dickhead does that. So put a bulb on the line coming from the tank and squeezed the ball and excellent flow from the tank so no issues there. Put the line back on the filter with a good hose clamp tightened, squeezed the two bulbs and fuel to both engines. So lesson learned.
