Boat buying dilemma

Having a hard time choosing a fishing boat, both 16 ft. Ones a new 2025 lund with a 50 hp Mercury and the other is a lightly used 2023 polarkraft with a 70 hp Yamaha. Lund is the fan favorite, industry leading hull but the PK looks pretty nice and the Yamaha is really my preference. Price is roughly the same, both very nice.
Any opinions welcome

I’m an offshore fisherman, glass boats

I’d go with the bigger Yamaha over Mercury, assuming you have local support.

I know nothing about aluminum boats beyond what I just read on the Lund and Polarctaft websites.

Polarctaft had a good presentation on the materials and construction of their hull.

What is “Industry leading” about the Lund hull?

Welcome to the forum.

If layout aka function is similar then go with what power you want.

List the models so we can check them out.

Assuming you would be getting the dual console id take the polar craft.

Bigger motor
Smaller front area giving you more room in back should you bring more than two people. The lund look crowded back there.

Looked at the polarkraft today and it's really nice. It's a '23 but it's new, hasn't been used. Can't see getting the Lund. Gonna sleep on it but probably buy it tomorrow. Unless someone comes in saying they're horrible boats.

Does the Polarkraft use any eood in it's construction? Even if it hasn't been used, that's still nearly 2 years of weathering. Worst case would be sitting around with no cover for every rain and snow.
