Brilliant !Insufficient Oil, regardless of how Good it is, will result in a Damaged Engine.
Jim.. no offense.... those are words from "Jacques II de Chabannes, Seigneur de La Palice (1470–1525)" a French nobleman and military captain known to make obvious statementsInsufficient Oil, regardless of how Good it is, will result in a Damaged Engine.
Anyone that thinks they are saving this planet by cutting back on their two stroke oul, needs a reality check. The amount of oil based products, spilled, wasted or intentionally put into the ground and atmosphere are so great, that two stroke oil pollution is a mere drop in an entire ship load of fuel. I have numerous friends that work in the oil industry, the amount of pollution going on is unimaginable !And once again this thread also demonstrates that old school mechanics are set in their ways.
I know they have bushings...and I also know that 24 to 1 is lots of oil. Much much better oil. Again, I stand by my statement that kbait gives excellent advice and I'm sure he's done it. Of the negative feedback here, have any of you tried it? Or do you just like to pollute the earth for no reason.
I've mention here numerous times that I've leaned way back on my ratios with 0 failures and my outboards idles way better....I troll a lot so it's a factor.
I suggest you try it first before barking out on what you think it needs.
Cheers.

I have to disagree on that one. The more that try to help the better. Every little drop counts. My grandfather used to put his used oil on the road in front of our house to keep the dust down. His theory was that’s where it came from to begin with. A guy would get into a lot of trouble doing that these days.Anyone that thinks they are saving this planet by cutting back on their two stroke oul, needs a reality check. You and I would get into a lot of trouble, however when you live out in the country as I do, you can see the county doing it all the time. They also use old motor oil and ATF mixed together to treat wood on trailer decks and as markers along parking areas. Today they only care where there is political correctness, outside of those areas, our own government violates what they preach. Look at when a jet airliner has an issue, they dump jet fuel all over the cities so they can land safely....jet fuel is kerosene...but that is OK.I have to disagree on that one. You should ask about seafoam next....Thank you, all, I think. lol

One of my early careers had a boss tell me 'it takes pennies to make dollars', same with wasting anything. I'd say I'm better than the average American by far but still have a long way to go, including ensuring I smell two stroke smoke in the morning....I have to disagree on that one.
