Unknown electronic device in bilge... Is it motor or out-drive related?

Was in my bilge today and remembered I had run across something last year that I didn't know was there previously and I don't know what its. While cleaning the bilge out, I noticed a black hockey-puck shape down at the bottom front of the bilge (furthest from the stern) and it has a wire that goes up into the harness and then... somewhere. It has no markings or screws, appears to be potted in, like with epoxy. The wire is coming apart at the connection to the device. What is it?1000034051.jpg

After googling a bit, it might be either something for the Lowrance depth meter/sonar? Also have an old Lowrance GPS unit it might tie into...?

Ok, will have to trace the wire back and confirm it's for one of the Lowrance devices, then go to their manual and figure out how it's supposed to be attached. Thanks!
