I think that chart is for GM engines, remember the one in the OMC boat is a Ford 5.0/302 cu in (although OMC/Volvo used both for a while). Might want to double check. My '88 OMC shop manual only has info for the Ford 460 so I don't know for sure.

I have the same engine and the most widely used highly recommended is the AUTOLITE 764, it will give you the best performance. I have used them for over 20 years on my engine.
