No headlights while running, can be used as an on off light for docking or a quick flash on to see objects floating while going slow. According to my DNR guy the hand held as long as it isn't left on. Fixed headlamps on while underway is a big no no....Have Navigation lights installed at the front inside the top weatherstripping rail. And a removable, extendable anchor light installed.

Agreed.
The original setup when we started only had Nav lights on the hood and anchor light.
To navigate the parts of mohave where we've caught the big fish, we are in between cliffs at most 150 yards wide. Over 100 feet deep at 10 feet from the side..
The handheld spot works ok, but having the headlight will help us get back upriver to the ramps, or back to camp easier. Canoes and kayaks are out after dark, at times, as well.

We've even toyed with hanging a lantern above the bamini. I will remember to put the spotlight in the dry bags when packing up. Thanks, thats a great idea. But, even the least expensive option there, cost 3/4 of what we have put into the boat thus far. There is no cell phone service available for quite a few miles south of there until you get to search light. That sounds expensive and high tec......
Night vision cameras have been around for years. Same technolgy as a trail camera and “ring” door bell cameras. That sounds expensive and high tec......
