2006, 240EX. Aft port compartment has a watertight, plastic, zippered pouch with an electrical plug - not a socket - coming from it. What's it for?

Pictures would help . No idea what boat you have , not that it matters and the odds of someone owning the same boat and model on this site are miniscule.

@Alan43440 if you dont know the manufacturer, post the first three digits of your HIN which are the MIC code and we can use that to decipher the manufacturer.

posting pictures of this plug will help.

It sound like is may be more of a power cord than a plug? (maybe)

Certainly more information (picture) is needed, but . . .

Per the Owner's manual there may be a shore power cord . . .
