    Sneezing when cold

    Lately when I first start (cold) my 89 175 HP Johnson, it sneezes itself out a couple times before running like a champ. Is this normal? What is the cause? What is the fix?     Want to do some testing tonight on my 175 HP Johnson and just got a pair of muffs that hook up to the hose. Do I turn the hose on all the way? What is the sign that I can turn the engine over? I can't imagine the feeling I will have if I screw this up. :D
