    poly vs. epoxy

    when i started my project everyone told me to use epoxy resin for it's waterproof properties. but i see people giving advise to use poly, which i have always heard is damaged by sunlight and isn't waterproof. i am putting in the floor now and have boght 5 gallons of epoxy (which isn't cheap!)...

    does anyone have ballpark figures on having an engine vated. or is there another good cost effective way to get years of saltwater damage out of a motor when i rotate the motor on the engine stand you can hear the crumbs being tossed around. thanks for the help.

    can i remove the rotted part of a stringer and tag on some good wood and resin and glass it all in? or will it not be structually sound enough? thanks for any input!

    new , used boat problem!!

    i just bought a 69, sportcraft 23' with mercruiser 140 hp, i took it out for the first time and i could only get 13 mph out of it, an hour later 8 mph and hobbled in at 6 mph, running rough , i would assume a fuel delivery problem but not sure where to start i noticed a drop of oil on bilge pump...

    power trim makes sound but motor does not move

    i have a 79 johnson 100hp and it has been sitting for a while and now the trim won't move in either direction but it makes the sound like it is. and help is appreciated thanks
