    Flywheel for 40hp

    1982 Mercury electric start. The magnets are damaged but the stator is not. I don't have any information on this CL find. Ebay doesn't have one just like it. ME does not have # for that year or sn. Number on fw looks to be 43307A5 but last three digits are distorted. Any help is appreciated.

    Coleman...how good/bad ?

    I got a 2013 4hp (4 stroke) when I bought a used boat. It runs fine in the barrel but I haven't had it on the river. It's too small and I want to sell it. It has very little time on it. I haven't seen much online about Coleman quality. It's made by Parsun in China.

    Merc or CDI ?

    It pertains to a switch box for a 76 Merc 7.5hp. Would you buy a NOS Mercury box or a new CDI? The CDI is $25 higher. The considerations are age,quality of components etc .

    I've seen in the kits a long piece of o-ring type material. Can I buy a o-ring and cut it to work as a seal?

    Float pin spring

    It's a Walbro LMB 229 618061 on a '84 Sea King/Chrysler 15. The carb did not have this spring when I took it apart but the needle/seat kit has one. The pic on marine engine shows it. Does it definitely have to be installed ?

    How do you get the seat out of the carb (15hp) ? The retainer above the seat is what I'm wondering about. I tried using a pick to no avail.

    1984 15hp Sea King/Chrysler ignition question

    The coil for #1 is rusty where the metal plates contact the mag base. It looks like these are pinned in place. I don't see an obvious way to remove them. Can anyone help with this?

    Spark Plug for '84 Sea King/Chrysler 15hp.

    It has Champion 8883s gapped at .025" in it now. Was told to put in Champion L86 plugs,gapped at .035" Does this change sound correct? model : VWB 52119E sn : 48X 32139 Autolite 425 and NGK B6HS are equivalents to the L86.

    It's a 1967...E2755568. I was going through the carb..things look good/clean. I shot carb spray and canned air through all orifices and passageways. It has a cork float. Assuming it's still good(???),should it get a coating of dope or similar to use it with ethanol gas. I don't know when...

    1984 15hp Sea King/Chrysler runs for a few minuts and stops (barrel)

    I got this as a freebie...sn is 48X32139....and put in new points to get it to run and also cleaned the carb internally. It is missing the starter but using a rope it started and was running pretty well for several minutes and just stopped. It was not running at a low rpm...maybe 1,500. I think...

    Sierra Impeller Installation

    It's a 73 9.8hp and had a merc impeller and replacing with equiv Sierra(18-3039). The sierra has stiffer vanes and it is much harder to get into the cup after engaging the key. I've heard of using zip ties and tried it but didn't work for me. I can get it half way in and the key is in the keyway...
