    Broken Crankshaft ring

    My mercury 200hp, is going through a rebuild. The mechanic said one of the crankshaft rings broke but it would be alright if we used it anyhow because they are compressed and in a groove. Should I make him replace it or is it ok.

    Split engine block and found plastic

    I broke open my block and found plastic on one side of the cork gaskit. I was wondering if this could have contributted to loss of power. It's on an 89 200hp mercury black max.<br /> :eek:

    Rebuilding 200 merc first time

    Hello, I'm rebuilding my 200hp mercury black max (1992) for the first time. I have some experience with cars and I'v read the seloc manuel a couple of times. The reason I'm doing a rebuild is #2 and #4 cylinders got scored. So I was wondering if you people had some advice for a rookie.
