    back again with this dang motor,took boat out yesterday,would not start at all,been working on the timeing,now it starts good but runs wide open,what do i need to do to slow it down?i have moved timeing,up and down,i went by the book so set the timeing,just like it suggest,but it will not...

    low rpm at full throttle on mercury 115 hp

    at full throttle i am only running 2200 rpm,i have a 1976 mercury outboard,with a 1980 power head,i have changed the switch box with a new one,rebuilt the carb.s,checked the coil,and distributer,it starts very good,runs great,but when i go full throttle,it only gets up to 2200 rmp,planes out...

    i have replaced the head with a rebuilt one,replaced the switch box,new,new starter switch,recterfier is working fine,coil shows good,dist. cap has new rotor installed ,including a new carbon brush,and i still am not getting any spark to the plugs,i have taken the wire from the coil to the dist...
